PPO ABOGADOS has become the first law firm in the country to receive the certification from “Great Place to Work”, which is one of the most experienced and prestigious organizations that evaluates workplaces worldwide. The certification is based on a survey that analyzes the office’s management practices and work culture.
PPO ABOGADOS with the management of the Fundación Internet Org, Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung FES Bolivia; and sponsored by Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz (Mercantil Santa Cruz Bank), presented a research on open banking and digital taxation, with the aim of supporting Tech entrepreneurs to promote the development of the national economy and update on new trends.
In recent weeks, a scenario of uncertainty has been generated in some companies in the private sector due to the determination of the Ministry of Labor to suspend continuous working day and to apply, starting March 6, 2023, the discontinuous working day, to both private and public sector companies. In response to the fact that there are private companies that, due to the nature of their activities, agreements with workers, or other reasons, implement continuous working day.
International Women’s Day is a global day to celebrate the achievements of women. It marks a call to put in action for the acceleration of equal opportunities for women.
At PPO, we are committed to working for a gender-equal society. Some of this work is reflected in our Pro Bono program. For example, last year, an Institutional Cooperation Agreement was signed with the “Adelante Mujer Foundation”, based in Cochabamba, Bolivia. The purpose of “Adelante Mujer” is to contribute to the integral development of women through their empowerment. The women who participate in the program enjoy psychological therapies and also legal support.
On February 2 of this year, the Bolivian government approved Executive Order No. 4872, regarding the “Plurinational Policy to Fight Corruption” (the “Policy”).
The objective of the Policy is to strengthen the fight against corruption based on, among others: 1) digitized public management; 2) development and implementation of risk management systems; and 3) management of complaints that are measurable and comparable to obtain results of impact, to optimize the prevention mechanisms.
