Américo Romero provides advice and representation in the administrative, regulatory, and corporate spheres to various commercial entities in their operations in Bolivia. Américo has extensive experience in the public administration, holding important positions such as Head Legal Manager at the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB), Advisor to the Executive General Directorate of the Financial Supervision Authority (ASFI), Head of Protection and Defense (ASFI), Senior Lawyer (ASFI), and Jurisprudential Systematizer at the Plurinational Constitutional Court (TCP). Additionally, he has conducted consultations for International Cooperation Organizations and State Entities in normative development. Before joining the firm, Américo was a partner at a legal boutique, where he provided legal advice to various commercial entities faced with sanctions from State regulatory authorities, granting him a unique perspective on the challenges businesses encounter in the current legal landscape.”.
Américo obtained his law degree from the Universidad Católica Boliviana, complemented by postgraduate studies in Constitutional Law and Constitutional Procedural Law, Administrative and Regulatory Law. He is a candidate for a Master’s in Constitutional and Procedural Law at the Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar of the Andean Community. In the academic field, he has been a professor in various subjects at the Universidad Católica Boliviana. He currently serves as a board member of the Latin American Development Foundation (FLADES).
