José Luis Tufiño is a partner at PPO and a member of the firm’s tax law team.
José Luis has over three decades of experience, emphasizing his contributions to the drafting and negotiation of numerous tax laws and regulations.
In the public sector, José Luis has held executive positions in various institutions, including the Internal Revenue Service and the Commerce and Corporations Registry.
Before joining PPO, José Luis was a founding partner of the internationally recognized tax law firm “Tufiño & Villegas” until its dissolution. Through this firm, he represented hundreds of clients in various tax matters, including national and international taxation, tax planning, and tax litigation, as well as appellate tax litigation.
For more than 30 years, José Luis has taught tax law and financial law at the leading universities in the country. He is an arbitrator for the National Chamber of Commerce and has been appointed as a CIAC arbitrator by the same chamber.
José Luis graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Legal, Political, and Social Sciences from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA).
