Emiliano is an expert in Dispute Resolution with special emphasis in arbitration at the national and international level.
Emiliano has participated as local counsel for important international firms involving international arbitration and investment processes in Bolivia in adherence to the arbitration regulations of CCI and UNCITRAL. At the local level, he sponsored different arbitration processes before Bolivian Arbitration Centers (CAINCO and National Chamber of Commerce) involving civil/commercial, construction, insurance and hydrocarbons issues.
Additionally, Emiliano´s peformance comprised the practice of civil and commercial litigation before local courts and contentious processes before departmental courts as well as the Supreme Court of Justice. His experience in the litigation area allows him to acknowledge and execute foreign awards before the Supreme Court of Justice and to file annulment remedies against arbitration awards (preparation and defense).
In general, his work focuses on previous case assesments, planning and analysis, the planning of strategies, negotiations and conciliations, and the development of arbitration proceedings as of the administrative and merit phase (preparation of writings for claims or contesting, attendance to hearings, etc.), preparation and production of proofs, requests for judicial relief and the award impugnation and execution phase.
Emiliano is committed to social work; for one part, he participates in the firm´s pro bono program as coordinator of international clients and, for the other part, he provides counseling to pro bono clients in different areas such as the acknowledgement and execution of foreigh awards and claims submitted to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights.
Within the academic area, Emiliano is a teaching assistant in the subject of International Public Law at Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra (UPSA), and he was the coach of the arbitration team of Universidad Gabriel René Moreno at the X International Arbitration Competition.
