Luis Fernando is a Senior Associate at PPO and part of the corporate and mining team. He has extensive experience in areas such as mining law, corporate law, contract law, intellectual property, and fintech. In the field of mining law, he has provided comprehensive advice to national and international companies in negotiating mining rights, their protection and development, as well as in the management of social, commercial, and regulatory conflicts. He
has also advised public entities in the interpretation and application of mining regulations in complex corporate cases.
In the area of corporate law, he has actively participated in the structuring and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, ensuring compliance with local and international laws. He has also managed complex contracts in preparation for arbitration stages.
Before joining the firm, Luis Fernando worked as a Legal Counsel in one of Bolivia's largest and most prestigious mining companies, as well as led the practices of mining law, intellectual property protection, and comprehensive contract management in one of the country’s leading cement companies. Recently, he played an important role in a prestigious legal mining advisory firm.
Luis Fernando graduated in Law from the Bolivian Catholic University and holds a Diploma in Arbitration and Mediation from the Royal University. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mining Law at CAMIPER-UTO. In addition, he is taking tech-law programs at the University of Chicago and Digital Contracting and Market at the University of Barcelona.
