Carola is an associate at PPO, specializing in providing tax advisory services to the firm’s clients across various sectors, with a corporate and business focus. Her practice at the firm is centered around the structuring of companies and operations, particularly in foreign and domestic investment structuring. She also advises on tax matters, planning, and consultancy for both local and international operations.
Within her practice at the firm, Carola has developed expertise in digital and international taxation, the application of Double Taxation Agreements, corporate reorganizations, M&A transactions, cross-border financing, as well as the taxation of Non-Profit Entities. She also has experience in structuring donations and digital business models.
Prior to joining the firm, Carola founded a company providing remote legal advice on immigration law to foreign professionals and students in Spain. Additionally, she worked at a top-tier law firm specializing in corporate and financial law. She also gained experience at Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz, where she drafted financing contracts for individuals and legal entities in La Paz. Carola completed her professional internships at the Conciliation and Arbitration Center of the National Chamber of Commerce.
Carola graduated as a lawyer from the Bolivian Private University and obtained a Master’s in Transnational Business Law from IE University in Madrid, Spain. She also completed courses on entrepreneurship at IE Business School. In August 2023, Carola taught a Tax Law class for undergraduate law students at the Bolivian Private University.
