The new board of directors of the Bolivian Association of Intellectual Property was elected in the General Assembly and will be in office until October 2024.
The new board is formed by: President Dr. Marcos Mercado, Vice-President Dr. Pilar Soruco, Secretary Dr. Perla Koziner, and Treasurer Dr. Giovanna Gismondi.
Marcos Mercado, president of the APBI (Bolivian Association of Intellectual Property), points out: “The new Board of Directors of the ABPI has the objective of opening its doors to new professionals who practice the specialization in Bolivia, interacting with their peers at a national and international level, and becoming an interlocutor of the private sector with the State in matters of intellectual rights.”
For her part, Pilar Soruco, who has been president of the aforementioned association in a past administration, and currently leads the Intellectual Property team of PPO Abogados, mentions: “It is necessary to propose changes and modifications in legal provisions that, as a country, we need to update our presence in the world of Intellectual Property, counting on precise and correct rules of the game that lead us to a real use of current technology, the protection of intellectual rights and the growth of the economy.”
