Bolivia, August 2023 – For the second consecutive year, the prestigious law firm PPO Abogados was a sponsor and host of the GC Powerlist: Bolivia 2023, an event belonging to the British directory THE LEGAL 500, one of the most prominent in the world, with the aim of recognizing the outstanding performance of lawyers (GCs, as known in English) in Bolivia.
Since 2013, THE LEGAL 500 has honored more than 3,000 GCs in around 40 countries through the “GC Powerlist,” providing a special platform for them to access programs, training, and networking opportunities with the most important law firms in each jurisdiction.
In this edition, GC Powerlist: Bolivia distinguished the 60 most relevant lawyers in the country after conducting a rigorous professional evaluation of their performance in providing in-house legal counsel to companies operating in over 30 industries.
Alejandro Pemintel, Director of PPO, mentions that in recent years, Bolivian GCs have played a significant role in overcoming a long list of challenges posed by new legislation, macroeconomic difficulties, and financial pressure. During this period, GCs have been required to make strategic decisions, demonstrating a high degree of resilience, finding solutions, and paving the way for their companies to navigate a more robust business environment.
“At PPO, we recognize the leadership skills, meritocracy, and strong commitment to quality and professionalism of GCs within the market, where Bolivian companies require their services for the solid combination of academic skills and business acumen. GCs possessing such skills make significant contributions that enhance the competitiveness and profitability of their employers. Their advice prevents contingencies, resolves existing problems, and identifies opportunities presented by an ever-evolving world,” says Pemintel.
PPO works closely with GCs and legal departments based in Bolivia and abroad. The challenges and opportunities of their clients motivate them to constantly innovate and seek ways to improve their services. PPO’s team, consisting of over 50% women, has a deep understanding of the market, trends, and the business climate. Their professionalism allows them to quickly adapt to today’s increasingly changing environment, thanks to their profound understanding of laws and regulations.
“We offer innovative solutions to meet clients’ needs by leveraging our specialized teams in various areas of practice. Our professionals provide the insight, innovation, resources, and expertise necessary to address the challenges of doing business in Bolivia, and this is once again being recognized by THE LEGAL 500. We are thrilled,” concludes the jurist.
The exclusive ceremony and networking event took place on the 7th floor of Manzana40, the business hub of Santa Cruz, where top executives from the national economic, industrial, and corporate sectors attended.
