PPO Abogados (“PPO”) is pleased to announce that Jose Luis Tufiño has joined as a partner, expanding its partnership to 11. Mr. Tufiño joined the firm on 1 July 2024.
He has more than three decades of experience advising clients from various industries on tax matters, including international and domestic taxation, tax planning, and tax litigation, including appellate tax litigation.
Since 1993, Mr. Tufiño has been a professor of Tax Law and Economic Law at the Universidad Católica Boliviana, Universidad Privada Boliviana, and the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés at the graduate and post-graduate level.
Mr. Tufiño was a founding member of the Bolivian Institute of Tax Studies and is a member of the Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de La Paz (ICALP) and the Colegio Nacional de Abogados de Bolivia (Conalab) Over the years, he has drafted and negotiated several laws and regulations from a tax perspective.
Mr. Tufiño’s tax practice has been recognized by the world’s leading directories, including Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners, which recognize him a “Senior Statespeople” in tax law in Bolivia.
