Carola is an associate at PPO and specializes in providing tax advisory services to the firm’s clients across various sectors, with a focus on financial and corporate matters. Her experience in banking and legal-financial advisory enables her to offer comprehensive and strategic solutions. At the firm, her practice focuses on the structuring of companies and transactions, particularly in investment structuring and divestment processes. Additionally, she is dedicated to advising on and consulting for local and international tax operations.
Within her practice at the firm, she has developed extensive experience in digital and international taxation, the application of Double Taxation Agreements, corporate reorganizations, M&A transactions, cross-border financings, as well as the taxation of non-profit entities, the structuring of donations, and the creation of digital business models. Her tax advisory to companies is strengthened by her knowledge in banking and financial advisory, allowing her to offer comprehensive and customized strategies that optimize her clients’ financial efficiency.
Prior to joining the firm, Carola founded a company dedicated to providing telematic legal advice on immigration law to foreign professionals and students in Spain. She also worked at a top-tier corporate and financial law firm, where she provided legal and regulatory advice to both national and international companies. Additionally, Carola worked at Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz, where she drafted financing contracts for individuals and legal entities and ensured compliance with financing requirements and conditions in accordance with regulatory and internal bank policies. Her professional internships were completed at the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of the National Chamber of Commerce.
Carola graduated as a lawyer from the Universidad Privada Boliviana and obtained a dual Master’s degree from IE University, in Legal Advice for Businesses and Transnational Business Law, in Madrid, Spain. She also completed entrepreneurship courses at IE Business School.
In August 2023, Carola taught the Tax Law course to undergraduate law students at the Universidad Privada Boliviana.
